Designed for a superior anatomical and comfortable fit
ALLEVYN™ Heel Dressings are designed specifically for wounds located on the heel area. Their unique shape and construction make them an ideal choice for providing superior wound care and protection to this challenging location. The dressing promotes early healing due to moist wound environment and a special hydrocellular pad technology that consists of three main layers first is the wound contact layer that allows the exudate to pass through it. The second part is called the hydrocellular core, which holds the exudate in a microscopic structure, and the last part is the breathable outer shell that allows the exudate to evaporate away from the dressing.
Features
- Tailored for wounds on the heel area, ensuring optimal coverage and protection.
- Advanced exudate management system enhances fluid absorption, reducing the risk of maceration.
- Soft silicone adhesive minimizes pain during dressing changes and ensures secure adherence.
- Conformable design molds comfortably to the heel's shape for optimal coverage.

- Superior absorption capacity helps maintain a moist wound environment, promoting healing.

Composition
Polyurethane foam
Designed for
Allevyn Heel Dressings are ideal for managing the following types of heel wounds: pressure ulcers on the heel, diabetic foot ulcers affecting the heel area and post-operative wounds on the heel
Note: Allevyn Heel must not be used for pressure relief independently of pressure relieving devices.
Directions
Cleanse the wound with an appropriate wound cleanser. Ensure the wound is dry before applying. Apply the white face to the wound and ensure good contact. Secure with retention dressing, tape or bandage. Dressings can be left in place for up to 7 days or as per healthcare professional's guidance.
Precautions
- Do not use Allevyn dressings with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions (e.g. Eusol) or hydrogen peroxide solutions, as these can break down the absorbent hydrocellular component of the dressing.
- Reddening of the skin around the wound has been reported rarely following the use of Allevyn dressings. In some cases this relates to irritation of fragile skin, in others, wound exudate remaining in contact with peri-wound skin for prolonged periods may be the cause. Infrequently, cases of sensitivity to the dressing have also been reported. If reddening or sensitisation occur, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
- If symptoms of illness or irritation appear, stop using the product.
- Always seek the advice of a medical practitioner while managing wound care.
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Avoid extreme temperatures.
