Double Strength Lakadong Turmeric Powder

Lakadong turmeric is a rare and potent variety of turmeric that is native to the North Eastern State of Meghalaya, India. It is known for its high curcumin content, which is around 7-12%, compared to 2-3% for regular turmeric. Curcumin is a natural compound found in turmeric, a spice that is widely used in traditional medicine and cooking. A turmeric with high curcumin content of more than 7% may support with better immunity, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. It can be used in the same way as turmeric powder, the aroma and taste will be excellent.

Usage

Can be used in cooking hot dishes, stews, curries, & soups as well as a cosmetic ingredient, food flavouring & food colouring. These are a few ways you can use it

Curries and Stews: Turmeric is a key ingredient in many curry recipes. Add it to the pan with other spices at the beginning of cooking to infuse the dish with flavor. It pairs well with vegetables, meats, and lentils in stews and casseroles.

Rice Dishes: Add a pinch of turmeric powder to rice while it's cooking to give it a golden color and a subtle flavor.

Soups: Enhance the color and flavor of soups by incorporating turmeric powder. It works well in both vegetable and meat-based soups.

Vegetables: Sprinkle turmeric on roasted or sautéed vegetables for added flavor and color. It works especially well with cauliflower, potatoes, and carrots.

Eggs: Stir turmeric into scrambled eggs or omelets for a golden hue and a unique taste.

Smoothies: Add a pinch of turmeric to your morning smoothie for a nutritional boost. It pairs well with fruits like mango and pineapple.

Turmeric Tea: Add a Tea Spoon of Turmeric Powder to Hot Water to make Turmeric Tea. Adding around 1 gram of Black Pepper to Turmeric Tea.

Whisk constantly to ensure that the ingredients are well combined and to prevent the milk from burning. Pour the turmeric latte into a mug and enjoy! If you prefer a smoother texture, you can strain the mixture using a fine-mesh sieve to remove any bits of spices. This step is optional.
