Designed for real life
Let this delicately sweet blend of white tea and rose petals support you through any long day, with a slow-release of caffeine and anti-oxidants. Head Start is the perfect tea for any tired tea-lover or new mum. It is a delicate blend of white peony tea and whole rosebuds.
White tea is high in both caffeine and theanine. Whilst the caffeine level in a cup of Head Start is higher than a normal builder's brew, the theanine gives it a slow release effect for a long, gentle boost. As well as being higher in caffeine than black tea, White Peony white tea has also been shown to be high in anti-oxidants. Rosebuds have been used for millennia to ease period cramps, and we've included them to bring a delicious aroma but also comfort.
- This organic, whole leaf tea is a delicately sweet blend of white peony whole leaf tea and rose petals
- The white peony tea is higher in caffeine than a black tea, but lower than a coffee. It has c. 90mg of caffeine per cup. But it is also naturally high in theanine which gives the caffeine a slow release effect. So you can get a boost of energy without heart palpitations

- 100% organic natural ingredients
- 100% plastic free, and biodegradable
- Each bag makes 2-3 cups of tea - leave the bag in if you like a stronger brew, but we recommend it lighter and brewed with 80 degree water

- White Peony - has a soft, delicate flavour with notes of melon and cucumber
- Rose buds - are sweet and floral
In combination, the tea is uplifting, delicate and balanced.
What is Theanine?
The white tea in this blend is very high in a compound called theanine. This is a relaxing chemical, which gives the tea a gentle slow release effect.
How much caffeine is in Head Start?
The white tea that we use as the base of this blend, means it has c. 90mg per cup. This is lower than a filter coffee which has c. 140mg per cup. But it is higher than a cup of builder's tea (75mg). It is safe to have when pregnant or breastfeeding, as NHS guidelines are that you should limit caffeine to 200mg per day. Just be aware that you shouldn't have more than 2 cups of this tea a day. And also just be aware that chocolate and soft drinks also have some caffeine in them.
How can Rosebuds help post-birth?
Rosebuds have been used for millennia in the Middle East to ease menstrual cramps and pains. We believe it can therefore help relieve cramps that you may suffer from postnatally, either after a c-section or natural birth.
