Research shows that the macular carotenoids - Lutein, Meso-Zeaxanthin and Zeaxanthin - are found at the back of the eye, in the macula. The macula is a sensitive part of the eye that is responsible for detailed, central vision. Here, the macular carotenoids form the macula pigment, which looks like a yellow spot at the back of the eye. The body can’t make macular carotenoids, so we have to consume them in our diet. The macular carotenoids used within MacuShield are obtained from Marigolds (Tagetus Erecta), which have been specifically grown for this purpose.

I have diabetes, can I take MacuShield™?

Yes, neither MacuShield Original+ or MacuShield Gold contain any sucrose (sugar).

Can I get macular carotenoids in my diet?

You can. The average Western diet contains between 1.3-3mg carotenoids per day. Dark green leafy veg, brightly coloured fruits and vegetables, and fish such as salmon, sardine and trout are good sources. MacuShield® products are nutritional supplements and do not replace a nutritionally balanced diet.

Should I choose MacuShield™ Original+ or MacuShield® Gold?

Both products contain all three macular carotenoids in the same quantities, but MacuShield Gold is our most advanced formula. It contains zinc to help maintain normal vision, and copper, vitamin C and vitamin E, all of which help to protect cells from oxidative stress.

Ingredients

L-Ascorbic Acid,capsule shell (gelling agent: bovine gelatin, humectant: glycerol, colours: red iron oxide E172, titanium dioxide E171), d-alpha tocopherol, bulking agent: sunflower seed oil, marigold extract (lutein, meso-zeaxanthin, zeaxanthin), zinc sulphate monohydrate, thickener: silicon dioxide, emulsifier: sunflower lecithin, copper sulphate anhydrous.

Directions

3 capsule once a day, preferably with food. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Pregnant or lactating women, or those taking medication for blood thinning should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this product

Eye sight Maccular degeneration, Glaucoma and the start of cattaracts!

Depend on and recommend Maccushield Gold. Have used them for several years. Having various eye conditions I have been receiving medical advice, eye tests etc. However have been discharged from hospital as I am maintaining my eye issues. My daily eye drops which are prescribed together with Maccushield Gold have enabled my issues to stabilise! So grateful and pleased. I am not a medical person but trust what helps!!!
