MacuShield Original+ is an eye health food supplement containing Lutein, Zeaxanthin and Meso-zeaxanthin, as well as Vitamin B2 which is proven to help maintain normal vision. Developed in collaboration with leading eye experts, our MacuShield Original+ formula contains all three macular carotenoids; Lutein (10mg), Zeaxanthin (2mg) and Meso-zeaxanthin (10mg). MacuShield Original+ also contains vitamin B2 (riboflavin) which is scientifically proven to help maintain normal vision.

Research shows that the macular carotenoids - Lutein, Meso-Zeaxanthin and Zeaxanthin - are found at the back of the eye, in the macula. The macula is a sensitive part of the eye that is responsible for detailed, central vision. Here, the macular carotenoids form the macula pigment, which looks like a yellow spot at the back of the eye. The body can’t make macular carotenoids, so we have to consume them in our diet. The macular carotenoids used within MacuShield are obtained from Marigolds (Tagetus Erecta), which have been specifically grown for this purpose.

I have diabetes, can I take MacuShield™?

Yes, neither MacuShield Original+ or MacuShield Gold contain any sucrose (sugar).

Can I get macular carotenoids in my diet?

You can. The average Western diet contains between 1.3-3mg carotenoids per day. Dark green leafy veg, brightly coloured fruits and vegetables, and fish such as salmon, sardine and trout are good sources. MacuShield® products are nutritional supplements and do not replace a nutritionally balanced diet.

Should I choose MacuShield™ Original+ or MacuShield® Gold?

Both products contain all three macular carotenoids in the same quantities, but MacuShield Gold is our most advanced formula. It contains zinc to help maintain normal vision, and copper, vitamin C and vitamin E, all of which help to protect cells from oxidative stress.

Ingredients

Bulking agent: Sunflower seed oil, capsule shell (gelling agent: bovine gelatin, humectant: glycerol, colour: red iron oxide E172), marigold extract (of which 15% is combined lutein, meso-zeaxanthin, dl-alphatocopherol, zeaxanthin), thickener: beeswax yellow, riboflavin.

Directions

1 capsule once a day, preferably with food. 

Store in a cool, dry place between 5℃ and 25℃.  For best before end see base. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
